Over the years, the Sabatier Gallery has curated a special collection for the German entrepreneur Jacob, centered on high-class KPM Berlin porcelain from the golden age of the Royal Berlin Manufactory. Known as the “Sunrise Collection,” this ensemble was displayed in the east wing of his Hamburg residence, where Mr. Morgenthau enjoyed his morning tea surrounded by porcelain masterpieces from the Belle Époque. Comprising thirty-two exceptional works, each piece reflects the unrivaled artistry and grandeur of its era.

The “Sunrise Collection” stands as a rare and extraordinary ensemble, unique in the world, balancing cultural refinement with investment value. Since its curation in 2016, the collection has appreciated by roughly twenty-five percent, underscoring its dual role as both an exquisite expression of taste and a meaningful investment. For Sabatier, the creation of the “Sunrise Collection” exemplifies the gallery’s expertise in guiding collectors toward building significant, timeless collections that elevate both interiors and lifestyles.

Karl Lagerfeld

Sabatier worked with Karl Lagerfeld, providing exceptional pieces that shaped one of the most refined private collections. This close relationship with the world’s most iconic designer underscores Sabatier’s role at the intersection of taste and legacy.

Over his lifetime, Karl Lagerfeld built a highly personal collection that blended uncompromising style with an extraordinary eye for detail. His passion for Art Deco furniture, sculptures, and fine art was not just a pursuit of beauty but a statement of cultural sophistication. Among his favorite creators was the renowned woodworker Bruno Paul, whose works, including an important salon, were acquired through Sabatier.

As one of Lagerfeld’s principal art dealers, Sabatier Galerie & Kunsthandel was privileged to guide and enrich his acquisitions over the years. This collaboration went beyond transactions: it was a dialogue of trust and shared vision, resulting in a collection that mirrors Lagerfeld’s unmistakable aesthetic and artistic conviction.

Today, Sabatier honors this legacy by continuing to advise collectors in building unique, meaningful collections , cultural assets that endure, inspire, and preserve the spirit of connoisseurship that defined Karl Lagerfeld’s world.
