We are proud to present the first digital art collection dedicated to the innovative German artist Petrus Wandrey, a figure whose work anticipated the digital condition long before it entered everyday culture. Wandrey explored the relationship between science, imagination, and technology at a time when such ideas existed outside established artistic discourse. Today, digital infrastructure offers a coherent way to carry this legacy forward.
The collection is conceived as a direct digital extension of Wandrey’s physical body of work. It is issued on behalf of the beneficial owners, the Sabatier family, who worked closely with the artist from the late 1990's onward, and was developed in direct cooperation with Wandrey’s widow, Ute Janssen. The objective is clear: to bring Petrus Wandrey’s work into the digital present while preserving the standards of authorship, provenance, and stewardship that govern serious art practice.

A carefully selected group of works has been translated into a blockchain based format using the Ethereum ERC 1155 standard. Each digital unit corresponds to an existing physical artwork. Singular works are issued as one of one representations, while graphics and lithographs follow their original edition logic with strictly defined maximum quantities. These structures mirror the conventions of the analogue print tradition. Each work is clearly designated, allowing collectors to distinguish immediately between unique works and editions. All digital supply figures match the total quantities of the corresponding physical works without exception.
This initiative represents an important step for Sabatier Art, building on more than sixty years of experience in preserving, positioning, and protecting cultural heritage. The use of digital infrastructure serves a practical purpose. It secures authenticity, ensures long term traceability, and allows the works to circulate globally without detaching them from their material origins.
The project was developed in strategic cooperation with Steve Alain Lawrence, Chief Investment Officer of Balfour Capital Group.
His involvement reflects a shared approach grounded in discipline, long term thinking, and an understanding of how cultural assets function within broader economic systems.
Participation in this collection does not confer ownership of any physical artwork. It does, however, establish proximity to a closely managed artistic estate. Wandrey’s physical works are handled with strict selectivity, and access to primary material remains limited. Participants may receive early visibility into selected releases, access to non public material, and invitations to private previews where works are discussed before entering the wider market.
Scarcity within this framework is structural rather than promotional. It results from a finite body of work and a deliberately controlled approach to its management. Subject to availability and allocation, participants may be offered the opportunity to acquire selected physical works under defined conditions. In this way, the digital collection functions as a credible point of access to an artistic legacy that continues to evolve while remaining carefully protected.
